Which calculator do you need?

Start with the calorie & TDEE calculator if you do not yet know how much you burn in a day, because every other number depends on it. Once you have a calorie target, the macro calculator splits it into protein, carbs and fat, and the protein calculator answers the one question people get wrong most often, which is how much protein a given body weight actually needs.

The other two are for the gym floor rather than the kitchen. The one-rep max calculator turns a set you already did into an estimate of your true maximum, so you can pick loads without ever testing a single. The plate calculator tells you which plates go on each side for a target weight, which is a small thing until you are doing it in your head between sets.

How accurate are these numbers?

They are estimates, and they say so. Energy expenditure uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is the formula most dietetic practice guidelines settle on, and one-rep maxes use the Epley and Brzycki formulas, which agree at around ten reps and drift apart at the extremes. Both are good enough to start from and neither replaces what actually happens to your body weight over three weeks.

That is the honest use for all of them: a starting number you then adjust from real data. FitApp exists for the second half of that sentence.

Questions

Are these calculators free?

Yes, all five, with no account and nothing to install. They run entirely in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Do I need the app to use them?

No. The app is for the part a calculator cannot do: logging what you actually eat and lift, and adjusting the target when reality disagrees with the estimate.

Which number should I trust if two calculators disagree?

Neither, for long. Pick one, follow it for two to three weeks, and let your weight and your logs correct it. An estimate is a starting point, not a verdict.
